About Your Digestive Health

Gut health is a central theme in Asian medicine, which recognises the abdomen as the location of the soul. Gut health is now also increasingly recognised in the Western
world as a desirable aim and an important physiological condition required for overall good health.

70% of our immunity resides in the gut. Also, 95% of our serotonin is being made in
the gut, which can explain the very important link between our digestive health and mental health.

Our gut is also home to about 100 trillion bacteria that digest our food, regulate our
hormones, eliminate toxins and produce key nutrients. Dietary patterns and
environmental factors have a profound effect on shaping gut microbiota.
