Homemade Chipotle BBQ Sauce

Serves: 1 Jar

Ingredients

1. 1tbsp Olive Oil

2. Half a Small Onion, finely chopped

3. 2 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped

4. 100ml Cider Vinegar

5. 90ml Meridian Date Syrup

6. 1 and a half tsp Mustard Powder

7. 1 and a half tsp Smoked Paprika

8. 2tsp Meridian Yeast Extract

9. 2tsp Chipotle Paste

10. 2tbsp Tomato Puree

11. 350ml Passata

12. 75ml Meridian Molasses

13. 70g Unrefined Dark Brown Sugar

Method

1. Heat the oil in a small saucepan and gently cook the onion and garlic for 4-5 minutes until soft.

2. Add all the other ingredients and bring to a simmer while stirring. Simmer for 10 minutes until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has become thick.

3. Use straight away or store in the fridge.
