Premenstrual Syndrome

About Bone Health

Your menstrual cycle can tell you a lot about your health. Throughout your cycle, your
hormones, which control your menstrual cycle, can also affect other aspects of your
health — emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a common health problem for women. Previous
studies have shown that up to 90% of women have experienced some form of PMS
during their reproductive years.

Several vitamins and minerals including Vitamin B, Vitamin D, Calcium, and
Magnesium are essential for neurotransmitter synthesis and hormonal balance, both
of which are potentially involved in the underlying pathogenesis of PMS. Vitamin and
mineral supplements may be effective in alleviating PMS symptoms.
